Stunning bedding anemone flowering mid-winter. A stunning mix of all colours and bi-colours. Flowers are born above neat 'parsley' like foliage. Anemones are easy to grow, flowering for months with little effort and make a lovely cut flower.
Early to Mid Spring
Cool to Mediterranean
Growing Conditions Detailed
Botanical name: Anemone
Height: 20-30cm (1ft)
Planting time: Autumn until early May.
Depth & spacing
5cm deep. 10-15cm apart.
Full sun to only light shade. But will tolerate more shade in warmer climates.
Well draining, fairly rich.
Use a complete liquid fertiliser like Thrive once you see it sprouting above ground and continue to give it a feed every 2 weeks till the foliage has completely died off.
Alternatively you can apply a granular bulb fertiliser when you see them sprouting above ground. Be sure to water it in. They do love a good feed with so many flowers being produced.
Late Winter until early or mid Spring.
Cool to subtropical.
After flowering care
Leave these in the g round. You may find they start to flower less after a few years so its best to add some more each year.
easier to plant than to spell, nice fat healthy bulbs. Glad to get out of the post bag and into the ground. Some in a pot some in the dirt,( Watch Bulbs at the bottom of the stairs) all happy little Vegemites. They snuggled in and promptly went to sleep. See them in the spring.
